Shinko Nishishiba SM type submerged liquefied gas pumps have been developed as cargo pumps for LNG, LPG & DME carriers and designed on the base of valuable experiences for designing, manufacturing and operating of a lot of discharge, pressurizing and circulating pumps at LNG terminals and cryogenic power generating plants.
In order that pump is operated submerged in the cryogenic liquid under the critical conditions, they have various features as follow:

The pump and motor are so constructed as to form one bodyCand submerged in the pumping liquid, thus there is no fear of liquid and gas leakage because of no sealing device required.

The motor is operated in liquid and completely isolated from atmosphere then it is absolutely safe from explosion.

Lubrication for ball bearings is effected by the pumped liquidCwhich is also used for cooling the motor.

Auto balance mechanism is provided at the backside area of impeller to balance the axial thrust in all operating range.

|
Inducer with extremely excellent suction performance is fitted below the impeller, so@full operation is possible during the period of unloading, making residual liquid as little as possible.

Stator coil is@fabricated with the form wound type with high insulation property and rigidity.For the motor insulation material and varnish, the material with durability and cryogenic resistance property are used.
